No, you just didn't read my comment properly. Preordering is free, and gets me some cool bonuses. I said it was free, because it really is. If I pay 5 dollars today, and pay 55 when I pick up the game, it's the same price if I were to just pick it up.

I like to pre-order them for the following reasons at GameStop.
1. I like to have all available pre-order content.

Why do people care so much about preordering games? It's basically free - 5 dollars (Or however many you paid for the preorder) gets taken off the price when you pick it up.

If you reread my comment I specifically mentioned the firmware hacks for the 3DS, which you cannot connect to the internet for. They could not patch it out at all, unless the console connected to the internet.

There's absolutely nothing special about the screen replacement they use. They're straight from China and readily available (you can buy them yourself from Alibaba). Replacing the screen isn't all that difficult either.
