Arguably, a show that gets 1 million people to watch once, and 20,000 to watch multiple times is more profitable than a show that just gets 1 million people to watch once.
Plus this constant re-watching may result in the algorithm pushing the show to more viewers. Literally no one knows how exactly these bots work…
99.99% of the time I find multiple reddit posts about a niche issue, and maybe one official forum post. And maybe that forum post has a reply.

Terrible analogy, smartphones didn’t instantly overtake other phones in the market. It was a slow transition (helped by competitor Android, which is still the leading smartphone OS).
