Se7en isn't necessarily supposed to be scary, but there's the scene where they find the emaciated man. They assume he's dead and are standing around talking when he starts to cough. That scared me.

Seeing The Blair Witch Project when it first came out was a great movie experience because of the giddiness of the crowd, but the only part that was scary to me was when something rustles their tent. As someone who camped in a tent a lot, that would freak me out. Otherwise, it really wasn't scary.
When I was a kid,

I read that "Maps" is about Karen O leaving for tour. She's saying goodbye to her boyfriend. The song is her wanting him to say they (the audience) don't love her like he loves her. The video for that song really puts it over the top.

They did a great job with the 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatcher. If you watch the people in the background, they seem panicked and weirded out. There are people running for no reason or turning to look at the main characters as they walk by. It makes things seem creepy even before they get into the pod people.

I'll take the ending to The 25th Hour.

You start watching that and you don't think it could possibly get any worse. But, goddamn, it really does get worse.

I haven't had it in years, but the Whatachick'n was the best chicken sandwich ever. I would also nominate the stromboli from Pudgies as an essential fast food.

I only recently got into Pearl Jam's Lost Dogs and I thought it was pretty great.

This was an outstanding year for music. I remember having the modern rock station on while playing Sega Genesis a lot. No Code is my favorite PJ album, and Superunknown and Alice in Chains were great. Stuff like Cake started coming on the radio. Even a lot of the one-hit wonder stuff, like Tracy Bonham's "Mother

I really liked the series, but most of the last episode was disappointing. They spent 90% of the episode wrapping things up with El and the monster is the most predictable way possible. The scene with the kids back at the Dungeons and Dragons table saves it, though.

I don't have cable, so I usually catch some Food Network when my wife hasn't gotten into something on Animal Planet

The theme song long outlived the show as the "Bush Watch" theme on The Rick Emerson Show, a local radio show and later podcast. It worked perfectly as an introduction to the real Bush doing things like admonishing a blind reporter for not removing his glasses, or stating that too many OB-GYNs aren't able to "practice

A guy on the train the other day announced that instead of voting for Trump or Hillary he was going to write in Schwarzenegger and Jesse The Body Ventura. He said that they had both been good "senators."

I read the NPR article earlier today, and this review is the best description of this album that I've seen yet. I don't get why it always gets mentioned that The King of Limbs wasn't that good. It grew on me and became my favorite, and "Codex" is now my favorite song.
When I got to "The Numbers" I realized that I was

Good astronaut-themed video too.

I'm finding that out.
