It’s both - people like Wordle because of the social aspects, the results sharing, etc, but they don’t dislike it over monetization or other “mobile game mechanics”. If it updated to include ads or leaderboards or a “you can pay us to get more puzzles” I’d probably just stop playing, even if the core game was as fun…

Nintendo is also one of these fan hostile companies that make a point to hunt down fans doing what fans usually do.   Many companies work under the same legal system and don’t feel the need to hunt down fans for creating fanart.  For some reason it works for other companies, so why Nintendo have to be this agresive…

Equally weird to me that despite this Nintendo is the only company to go to these lengths when many others, from Microsoft on down, don’t just avoid such punitive actions but sometimes even work WITH the modders and creators responsible.
