This is why Hillary fans are so fucking obnoxious. It’s always someone else’s fault (here’s you blaming a guy who voted for her, for example.)

I’d argue the author has a point, at least when talking about laptop manufacturers that have large gaps between refreshes. Many of the other big laptop companies do lots of minor refreshes and catch things like new architecture updates like these, but the Surface and MBP are going to be behind the curve for a good…
There are barebones systems and laptops with replaceable CPUs, but as mentioned in the article, Intel hasn’t released the whole range of processors yet. If I remember correctly, they started with an Ultra Low Voltage i5, and haven’t gotten around to releasing the high end stuff that needs more power.
It’s always going to be a trade-off, but often that desktop just isn’t practical.
Not with discrete video cards. Only the top of the line MacBook Pro has one for laptops, and only the top three or so iMacs do for desktops (barring the Mac Pro, but that’s even more expensive, and non-upgradable thanks to the odd form-factor.
Can’t help but feel like the new MacBook is designed to replace the Air. If Core M equipped MacBooks can cost more than an i5 equipped Air, why would they sell the Air?
The cost of a Mac with a video card definitely sits way ahead of what similar equipment would cost on a Windows machine. IIRC, $1700 on a desktop and $2500 on a laptop?
It isn’t always, but it depends on your needs. I spent a year abroad. Taking my desktop with me wasn’t really a practical option, and buying/building one there was expensive and still left the issue of bringing it back. Ended up with a fairly heavy but still movable gaming laptop. Spent almost the entire time in my…
Sager makes laptops via pre-built laptop chassis, from a company called Clevo. They’re very common in the custom-built laptop world. I’ve got one from Japan based on a Clevo chassis.
The U stood for Ultra Low Voltage, I believe. And they still fit that definition (15~W TDP.)
There’s a lot to unlock, so that’s fun. The limited song list gets old though, especially when you’re trying to unlock the last costumes and whatnot.
You still seem to be taking issue with the fact that the problem was reported at all. Reporting on a convention where all the convention goers are going to be people of color doesn’t suddenly make it not an issue for cosplayers in places where that isn’t the case.
Where exactly is Kotaku making it worse? You seem to be advocating for pretending the problem doesn’t exist. Which won’t make it any easier for PoC cosplayers. Reporting on the difficulties they have is not the same as making it worse.
The sheer number of people here in the comments arguing it’s OK to punch a coworker in the face (but only if you happen to make something they like) is kinda frightening...
You’re aware that current model Mac Pros don’t look anything like your 2010 model, right? The “trash can” style Mac Pros have a non-standard set of AMD video cards and a more or less proprietary connector to their odd shaped motherboard.
Do you really need that high resolution a screen at that size and with a Core M powering it?
I don’t know why Mac fans think this argument is in their favor. If users don’t need performance, why pay Apple prices for them? A new top of the line MacBook Pro is going to be behind on the hardware curve and still fantastically expensive compared to a variety of Windows options. A new MacBook moves away from the…
To be fair, Type-0 was released early in order to beat an announcement of an official translation to the punch. In fact, the patching method pretty much involves a complete copy of the game.
In the theatrical release it’s never revealed that he’s Jimmy Olson, so it’s not just an emotionally empty scene where an important character gets killed as an aside in the opening five minutes, you don’t even know that his death was in any way significant in the first place.
It’s generally been an improvement, with the occasional hiccup (I run two monitors, and occasionally it makes it very difficult to auto-hide the start menu on one of them. Windows 10 also has the habit of popping new windows underneath older ones.)
