Yup. There was a similar story but opposite that was on a G/O site recently. Someone overpaid their mortgage payment by a very large margin and the bank fought for literal years to give the overage money back. Fuck banks.

User base, in this case, is different from customer. If you have a million users but none of them give you money, does your business succeed?

The difference is Microsoft and Sony have utterly massive sources of alternative income from their other products - they can afford to eat losses on their consoles, because they have much bigger profits elsewhere.

Soon we will get richer with this thanks to trickle-down economics. Just watch.
