You’d be surprised what is out there in the aftermarket. I purchased an ‘04 LX470, which had an old system which unfortunately controls the HVAC as well, making a simple replacement difficult. Luckily, there are a wealth of aftermarket android based headunits made specifically for it that include a canbus decoder and

Initially I cared about as much about these trucks as I did about the stance kids, which is to say not very much. Not my cup of tea, but whatever, have fun making your car worse. Having recently seen some driver-perspective videos(notably WhistlinDiesel), I have to say that the visibility issue is pretty insane, and

Yeah, I was doing the drive from NYC to VT in my LC and it was eating me out of house and home. LC now lives in VT with an Outback for shuttling back and forth. The difference in fuel economy covers the monthly payment...free car!

yeah, my ‘07 was pretty bad as well.

The worst is unsurprising, my father’s ‘89 Jag XJS. Between the electrical and cooling problems it was as bad as the stories.

True enough. That said, it only solves part of the problem. I actually used to run Tesla’s charging infrastructure team for NY metro. For Model S and X owners, garage charging was generally enough as those cars were almost certainly gonna be in a paid garage anyway. However the majority of car owners in the city, and

Not sure if you’re trying to disagree with me, but if you are, you used the ellipsis to skip over some important parts.

To be fair, it’s a replica. A tube frame kit car is not a terrible place to start for an EV conversion

Given how autopilot actually works in a plane, I’ve never had a problem with the branding of Tesla’s system(FSD as it’s sold right now excluded). That said, from the perspective of someone who does think it’s irresponsible branding, I would think that co-pilot is worse, not better. A co-pilot, by definition, is

Eh, the hole to access the screen is pretty small, don’t know that dishwasher jets will get to much.

‘04 LX owner here, a couple tips

For the clunk, greasing the driveline zerks can definitely be one source, but another potential source of driveline clunk is the rear control arm bushings(well the arms since Toyota doesn’t actually sell the bushings by themselves) I am due to do them in my truck right now, but they are

I did an android headunit in my ‘04 100 series. Absolutely game changing. It controls the HVAC, can run apps on its own or do apple carplay, connect to the OBD for realtime info display or running codes. Has completely changed the experience of the truck.

Looking at the rate of acceleration towards the end, it definitely has a bit more to give on a longer road, but I’d be shocked if that hits 331.

Brooklyn resident with an LX470 here.

Eh, if I had to guess, we’re not quite at the limit yet. We’ll always be able to make more power. Limitations come from two areas, our ability to make tires to hold up to that speed, and the ability to overcome the drag with the available traction to the ground. The wheel-driven LSRs tend to be in the mid 400s with

Can someone tell me what is being driven off of the front most chain. I assume oil pump and maybe water pump?

True, I’ll be curious to see if this inherits something like the Model Y heat pump system. Given the amount of reengineering to update the drive system and battery, I wouldn’t be surprised.

I specified launch mass which NASA says was 24000lbs which is 10886kg, so I’m 0ver by 114kg. Even current mass is within the envelope of the F9, so not sure why that’s relevant anyway.

Eh, the launch mass of Hubble was 11k kgs, substantially less than the 16k capacity of the F9 to LEO when returning the booster to earth, less than half the capacity when expendable. That is not even considering Falcon Heavy.

Having recently dropped a few pounds per corner on my truck by moving from LT to P rated tires(same tread, same diameter), I can say for sure that you will notice 4 pounds on a bike wheel. Even on a bicycle, dropping ounces, particularly in rim or tire weight, is very apparent.
