Thank you for proving my point.
False equivalency. She was not asked to turn anyone over for execution, Chicken Little.
Morality is inherently subjective. Left or right, those who claim the moral high ground are those we have the most to fear. It is the height of arrogance to believe you can define what is moral and what is not.
Watch the video. She describes her actions as refusing to give up her seat. These checkpoints are legal, and there is nothing harassing about it.
She probably had lots of motorists flipping her off as they passed her leaving the checkpoint. My boss didn’t know these things existed and flipped out when I told him about them. The people bitching about them here probably don’t know that some of these checkpoints have been around longer than they’ve been alive.
Which part is racist? The white lady being asked a question, or the border itself?
Probable cause is not required for a brief detention anywhere, and within range of the border they dont even need reasonable suspicion. Learn the law.
How is that argument bullshit? He is literally being paid to do that job... you don’t think he’s standing out in the heat for shits and giggles do you? This is literally his job, and this lady is only accomplishing one thing... giving this guy who is doing his job a hard time. That’s all she accomplished... if she…
She asked them for legal authority and they gave it to her. Border security is not inherently racist. What did they do that was racist?
I live in El Paso and always pass through these stations on our frequent road trips and this is exactly how it always plays out. This lady was just looking for an argument. She was not standing up for a cause, she was not being a champion for the American Citizens. She just wanted a story to tell her other teacher…
I realize what you are trying to lead me into(Nazi war crimes most likely), but no they are doing a job. Much like when I work my security job at the bar, people get offended when they have to show ID or fill out membership cards... that’s just my job... simple as that. Don’t like doing that, you need to take it up…
The Supreme Court disagrees with you about the checkpoints. Thank you for demonstrating your ignorance.
There is no 4th Amendment violation here. That is the case law the officer was showing her that she refused to read. This was a manufactured confrontation for a viral video.
She is the one bitching. I am calling her an asshole
Accept what? Police enforcing the law, in compliance with the law?
She was not asked to produce papers, and they were acting within the scope of the law. This is nonsense.
As they have to right to hold her up to 24 hours. She’s lucky they were nice.
This lady is an asshole trying to malena viral video. The agents were polite, provided her with legal authority, and behaved professionally. Glad to know this blond white lady sees herself as a modern Rosa Parks, standing up for her sad brown friends.
Look, I hate the CBP as much as the next guy. But this is some hilariously classic clueless-California-white-lady shit. She appears to be at the checkpoint outside Las Cruces. I lived there for years, and I must have gone through it a hundred times. It’s sort of a fact of life that you get used to around here, and I…
