When Huge was on - and especially when it got canceled so quickly - I remember thinking that she'd probably never get a part that good again. But then she disappeared *completely,* and I remembered that Hollywood is even worse than I thought.

Agreed that Common is the only weak link. They had no excuse for not casting Terry Crews in that role!
She is 32 years old.
Disney Channel star/sister-of-Manny-from-Modern-Family Raini Rodriguez?
That worked out pretty well with Nikki Blonsky.
The biggest one for me might be Weird Al. I just can't imagine him not being around to crank out silly nonsense every few years.
Right, that's the thing! Even in death, he went out the coolest way possible -
How are you commemorating Bowie in the days ahead? I'm definitely watching Labyrinth tonight, and I'm thinking about listening to all 27 albums in order this week.
For me it was "Starman" this morning. A more obvious song to cry to, I suppose, but "Let all the children boogie" still hit me like a ton of bricks for whatever reason.
I think it's like Sean says at the top of the article - it seems impossible. He was sick for a while, but we (the public) didn't know it, and he's one of those people who always seemed kind of immortal.
Agreed. This is such a lovely tribute. You can feel the affection in every word.
My goal is a simple one: I want to watch all 11 features directed by Charlie Chaplin. So far I've only seen four.

I agree with all of that. Every part of that describes my experience with this book.
I started it after getting several recommendations from friends, and I gave up after 50 pages. Around that time, the lead character and his best friend spend a whole page debating whether or not their hero enjoyed the movie Ladyhawke.
Every two-year gap has made me less excited about the show coming back. By 2012, I was champing at the bit for new episodes. In 2014, it was kind of nice to see those guys again. Now I'm relieved that I only have one episode to sit through.
I like both Prep & Landing specials, but I think the short (with Betty White as Mrs. Claus sending Wayne & Lanny into Santa's office on a mission) might be my favorite of the three. It packs in so many terrific gags.
On Next Generation, they did that kind of stuff all the time. Picard loves 1940s detective novels, Riker loves 20th century jazz, and Data loves Joe Piscopo.
Nathan Rabin's had his own Wikipedia page since the MPDG craze!
