I'm not. They're super cute as a couple, and both delightful characters on their own. I phrased it that way just because it makes me happy that a TV couple meeting that description exists.

I heard the cast recording, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Yeah, he'd be great. I would love to see that.
Mary Beth and Travis are TV's most adorable "fat hearing girl/thin deaf guy" couple BY FAR.
It sucks. It's really the worst. I inflicted my share of it, and I wish I hadn't. I'm a middle-school librarian now, and I try to do whatever limited amount I can to encourage kids to be kind to each other.
The Happiest Girl in the World
Reaction was mixed, as I recall, but I really enjoyed it. Preston was a more bombastic Hill than Broderick's lower-key Ferris Bueller take, but I thought the latter worked pretty well.
Oh yeah, she was good too. I liked her character a lot. I had just forgotten about her (and about Go On in general, until Sarah Baker was on Louie and the AV Club posted an essay about it.)
Man, I really need to watch Bunheads at some point.
I didn't know she was in that! Thanks - I'll check it out sometime.
Oh, I don't know. If you can change one person's mind, that's a good thing.
Also the use of "a female" as though females are specimens and not people. Drives me up a wall every time.
Sarah Baker's adorable. She was literally the only reason I made it through 13 episodes of Go On.
I wouldn't say it's akin to racism. No one is going to be attracted to every body type, or to every [anything] type. I don't think it makes you a terrible person if you don't find Mindy Kaling attractive.
Oh hey, another thing I just thought of: ABC Family's Huge was a really terrific examination of all the different things it can mean to be a "fat girl" in high school, and how that changes when everyone around you fits that description to some degree. They only did ten episodes, so they didn't have a whole lot of time…
Sure, that makes sense. Neither Miss Patty nor Babette was as prominent as Sookie, but they're both in 50+ episodes and sometimes got to be the focus of stories.
I don't think the weight of any of those three women I named above was ever mentioned.
It certainly is a type of morality!
Hmm. That is an interesting choice. It airs tomorrow night though? Maybe Libby's just encouraging us to watch.
I haven't seen this episode yet, but this essay makes me really excited to do so. I always thought Sarah Baker was leagues better than the "Crazy Cat Lady" jokes they gave her on Go On.
