It would have been easy to play 8 that way if the audios, novels, and comics didn't exist. If the TV movie had been the only time we ever saw him, he would have been a perfect candidate for "the forgotten Doctor." As far as many fans are concerned, of course, that *is* the only time he ever appeared.

True. And he's in "Day of the Doctor" for heaven's sake!

War Doctor audios would be great. I'd be all over that.

It's basically a slightly saucier singing telegram.

I would also be in favor of that. Like I said below, 10/Martha is my dream NuWho-era audio team, but 10/Donna is second. And then 9/Rose, which will definitely not ever happen.

That's an excellent point. That's exactly what it feels like.

It was better than "Dreamland," at least. And it was nice to hear Anthony Stewart Head as the villain. But yeah, not a great story.

The only sketch I've ever seen from her show is that terrible thing where David Tennant plays the substitute teacher, and it was enough to make me never try again.

*Oh fo lo tho Jo do

Yes. Agreed 100%

I mentioned in another post that Martha's my favorite in theory, but Donna's my favorite in practice. All of that comes from season 4 rather than this special, but it was so refreshing to see the Doctor/companion relationship portrayed as two completely platonic best friends. They genuinely just seem like pals, and

Martha's my favorite in theory - and I like Agyeman's performance better than Prole Hole does - but I got really frustrated with how often she was relegated to playing that same note of pining after the Doctor. I love Martha the smart, capable, curious doctor who's giddy over being able to travel space and time, but

He's not shouting there?!

That even carries over to the audios, where his adventures switched from classic series 4-episode serials (2001-2007) to mostly standalone 45-minute episodes with seasonal arcs (2007-Present). Doctors 5 through 7 have continued to follow the classic series format.

One early exception: Ernst Lubitsch's The Love Parade. It's a bit clunky in spots, even compared to the movies he made just a couple of years later, but it really moves and he does some interesting things with the camera.

Don Cheadle is really in Hotel for Dogs!

Surely I can't be the only one who finds Beth Behrs to be the more attractive of the 2 Broke Girls. It's weird, because normally I'm a brunette guy, but in the case of that show I feel the opposite of my usual way.

Don Cheadle's finest work!

See, that's exactly the kind of thing I would say to my boss, and then she'd chuckle at me condescendingly.

I haven't seen any of the Pink Panther movies, something I certainly need to correct at some point. But yeah, good call on Strangelove. Obviously.
