Yeah? I don't doubt it. That was the first book about Python I ever read, so I wouldn't have had any idea at the time.

I've meant to see this since I was in high school, mostly because Robert Ross raves about it in The Monty Python Encyclopedia. which is actually capsule reviews of every project any Python member had been involved in through 1999, but a very entertaining read nonetheless.

Can of Worms is this mess about a kid sending a message to space and getting badly-puppeteered aliens in return. Erika Christensen played the best friend/love interest - http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…

You are not the only one. Tru Confessions is one of the absolute worst Disney Channel movies of that period, and there were a whole lot of bad ones (Miracle in Lane 2! Can of Worms!)

That guy's name was Twitty, which seems weirder now than it did in 2000.

No, he was pretty great on that show. I bet he would still be a solid comedic actor if he'd gone that route.

Awww, Tawny was awesome.

Life and Times is such an amazing book. I was given a free copy of the two-volume BOOM! hardcover edition for my school library last year (which was a huge surprise, because it's been out of print for a while), and it always makes me happy to see kids checking it out.

I loved Even Stevens, and I liked him in Holes, but since then my fondness for him has slowly, steadily dried up.

When my brother graduated from college (a very small school in North Dakota) in 2010 , the college president incorporated sections of "Everyone's Free to Wear Sunscreen" into his speech as though he had written them.

If you really want me to, I can run over to the Mizzou Library and find that TV Guide in the stacks and scan it.

I'm only about six episodes into the monthly range, so I honestly couldn't say. I think they work in either order though. The first two seasons of EDA worked fine for me without hearing the earlier stuff.

I imagine we'll see Gremlins 2.

Oh man, Ziggy's Gift! I haven't seen that in 20 years. Thanks for reminding me it exists. I should look it up on YouTube.

They reveal who the villain is in the opening number! The best!

That's a good idea. I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that something like that has actually been done in the audios.

Thanks for linking to that post! I thought about doing so, but then I decided I'd posted enough already.

One of my favorite things about this special is Jerry Nelson's performance as Balthazar the Teddy Bear. He's the de facto leader of the playroom, reminding everyone how to act when new toys arrive, but it's clear that neither of the kids like him at all and he never gets played with.

I always felt like it was probably a coincidence, because they're so tonally different. But yeah, it's certainly noteworthy that Meteora is a space toy who thinks she's a real warrior.
