I think it's for recording HDR video. The mirror is see-through from the back, and one camera is under, the other is over exposed. I think.

On a not so related note: What's up with the white balance? I don't know much about Canon because I used Nikon forever, but it always looks like the Canons have some kind of purple-ish hue on the photos? Is that right, or it's just me?
