for anyone thinking the cars of the future will be 3D printed now, not likely, stamping, injection molds, and dedicated tools are a lot more efficient and will continue to be

no, still too Kardashian, I need more of a Knightley -eque butt

Reel-to-reel or record player, obv.

Once you see it:

There's always going to mud and road crap stuck into that sharp edge right there.

Ugh...this truck is a butter-face.

BEHOLD

A decent snow tires is much better than even a high end all season. And it's not so much about plowing through heaps of snow and not getting stuck, but travelling down an ice and snow covered highway and not suddenly yawing 50 degrees into the oncoming lane. Not to mention the braking , turning and acceleration

You might think they're adequate, but proper snow tires are simply better. And not just better in some philosophical barely tangible way. You can feel the difference immediately in even small amounts of snow.

If you have enough traction, yeah. But fancy diffs won't do very much if you're on the wrong tires and a narrow, icy road.

You are crazy if you think the car in that movie was the R8. It was a futuristic model based on ALL of Audis upcoming design. Big Grill, larger wheels, general greenhouse. Not anywhere close to the resemblance the NSX in Ironman had to this finished (?) model.

One would think they would, given the fact that they get so much more snow, but I can tell you from experience, they don't. They're just slightly better at it than everyone else.

What makes you hate them?

Honestly, the biggest one is "I don't need winter tires", but I feel like we have gone over that pretty thoroughly. I'm only saying it again because it's really a message that needs to be pounded home. If everyone in the DC area was on mandatory snow tires, Tuesday would have been a walk in the park.

In case you're unfamiliar - lake effects of Lake Michigan can strike with very little warning, and in some cases you can go from perfectly clear weather to Hoth-like blizzards in seconds. This often leads to driver panic, which leads to those epic 40 car pileups. I wouldn't be surprised if it were one of these

I'd like to see that litigated. Consumers are asked to sign all kinds of non enforceable things these days.

Summer vs Winter tires graphic.

I'll give him a pass on the sunglasses. I have tinted windows on my car and still need sunglasses at times. The windshield isn't tinted... Admittedly I have very sensitive eyes, but snow glare is pretty rough.

Oh no we're about to crash!! Quick, Roll up the windows!!
