My echo is what got me to start buying into home automation more. Prior to the echo we had the Nest thermostats and I was looking at smart lights, but getting the echo pushed my wife & I to jump in. We now have 5-6 lights/outlets, a harmony hub, nest products, and even our plex media server all connected via an echo

Having looked at DIY kits for cameras early on, they were fairly easy for me to setup and use, but for a non-technical person (my wife) she would have a harder time using the system and her happiness was key.

If you do Blade/Deadpool and we bring back Wesley Snipes...does that mean deadpool/wade wilson was also a vampire hunter in his early career?

Except Nest is a great way to feed their ad engine, remember every data point they can collect on you is more they can sell. Having Nest gives them access to video metadata, thermostat, smoke/carbon sensors, and now home security. Plus Nest after Google did start playing better with others which I am sure is feeding

Compared to Nest, it would be better. I think Nest is being told by Google NOT to do certain things since they are not fully under the Google brand which does not help also.

I own a number of nest products and the best thing that could happen is Google fully takes it on and actually invests into it (under its brands). Nest has some great features (minus the subscription) which I am sure is one reason Google wanted it but then did noting for years.

They have 24/7 monitoring and cellular back up as ‘coming soon’ on their website which I am sure will add more to the cost and bump it well above ADT and others.

With the fight in NY the Avengers could be going into battle and someone ask who is going to stay on defense and protect the streets.

Just ordered a Nest Cam Outdoor and the price was $126, lowest I have ever seen it.

You only need 1 main echo device, then you can scatter the cheaper dots around the house if you want to access anywhere. We have a 2,200 sq ft home and have 1 main echo downstairs that covers it mostly and 1 dot upstairs in our master bed room. The other rooms do not need or have any smart features yet but at how

This looks like a direct shot at Netflix raising their price, offer the cheapest plan for a discount and get them hooked. Which with Netflix having lost Fox content, soon Disney may pull their movies, and focusing on original content. If you want current shows airing or those above missing content archives Hulu is now

My wife got me to sign up for Hulu again recently, and honestly it is getting tough to keep Netflix long term. We have shows that are exclusive on Netflix we will go back and watch when a new season airs but starting to think our go to everyday streaming service is Hulu.

I never said this was for someone rich to get richer, I am honestly interested in how an up tick of $15B would be applied as Ireland is not a large country so this could have great economic impact (though I doubt the $15B will ever be paid).

Honest question, if Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, etc who have all been told to pay the EU in some form, where does it go?

I have been using Hiya and have it on all the defaults. I know in some of the settings I saw you can have the calls routed straight to voicemail or auto ignore if they think it is spam. I have yet to test this but might be worth giving it another shot so you can drop the monthly fee.

My wife and I are on Verizon and paying $3 per line is a bit much, maybe $3 per account. We both downloaded Hiya recently to get it a try, overall it works fairly well trying to alert of a potential spam/spoofer/telemarketer. Only real negative I have so far is everyday it wants you to go into the app to update the

Glad I am not the only one, got this on the last sale and it does a great job cleaning (shedding husky and 3 cats). Finding home...never happens, we let ours run at 2AM so nothing is in its way and it never makes it back.

My wife and I do, we use the Plex DVR since beta and it has been great. This gives us the media we want to watch on our TV easily without having to go to a website, then cast it, or worry about it not being online when we finally get a chance to view the show.
