Yeah. I was much more sympathetic(ish) to Trump voters than I am now precisely because I could plausibly imagine that they were gullible and believed some of the things he said and/or they saw him as this Molotov cocktail and etc. (I didn't agree, but I could understand it.)

I seem to recall that there was some study done that basically came to this conclusion. Like, yes, being well off/secure definitely is a big factor in happiness, but there's a ceiling for most people and beyond that additional money doesn't really do much.
