Yeah, in the part of Indy where I work there are more cars operating that wouldn’t pass a basic test than would. I was the gracious recipient of a rear end hit and run that involved one of those owners and his car a few months ago. Safety inspections and periodic insurance checks I am ok with.

Society still has to put warning labels on mowers warning you not to do that though....

Lol, Europe’s commercials are so much better than US.

Yep, like I said he could just ad an inline ballast resistor and run a standard coil. I have never noticed any difference running a jumper wire from the starter solenoid or not on a points system or EI still using a 6v coil and resistor. May be beneficial if the starter really drags down voltage when cranking but if

I have a problem with associating a spirit or soul to inanimate objects too. Makes it hard to get rid of things that have served me well for a long time.

My XJ needs an alternator. Maybe I had alternator on the brain instead of coils.

Yep, easy if you convert to 12v. I can’t recall that number but you can usually get them to fumble around from the E70 number and get you something that will work. If not, just pick up an inline resistor and use the E70.

Dude wooo! Are you going back 6V for running? If so make sure the replacement coil reads (for used with external regulator) or something to that nature. If not and you stay 12v buy one that says (internally regulated or not for use with external regulator). You might alreay knwo this. It’s sometimes tough to find the
