Thanks for not making this a slideshow.
It translates nicely as “Bill of the Cross”
First off, I know it probably wasn’t you guys’ call but run it up the flag pole to whoever’s decision it is; this slideshow format is terrible. At the very least, have someone fix it where you can click the comment icon and it will take you directly to the last page.
You’d get a lot more discussion if you didn’t have to click through 17 pages to get here.
Funny thing is that, after so many decades, cannot stomach classic rock stations. I am tired of the same play list that I heard on the stations in 1990. Great for those that love it. I just feel that I have listend to it enough. It started with only am radios in work trucks in the 1980 and today when I camp with my…
I admired that about the book as I read it, because for all the stories King has written, I don’t think he’s ever before truly examined a difficult transition into believing the unbelievable. It was refreshing. The show is actually stretching that process out even more. I kind of don’t mind.
One of the things I liked about the book (I will admit, I have not seen the show yet since I don’t have cable and this hasn’t shown up on any of the streaming services I have) was that every logical path was considered before the characters accepted a paranormal cause. Which, yeah, at the time felt like King was just…
Liked your review Alex. One thing though I disagree with. Not sure he loves his wife and job since he refers to them as a “mold” he’s been fitting into.
“Why would you use ‘dirtbag’ as an insult? It’s the most useful part of a vacuum cleaner.”
“Wow, you two really are perfect for each other.”
This was indeed soul-crushingly sad if you look at it from Janet’s perspective. She evolves the ability to love and be loved only to see her loved ones, one by one, venture into an unknowable next stage where she can never follow. All credit to Carden, who was wonderful in this episode, but that thought leaves me way…
Gleam that Cube or GTFO.
What, no mention of ‘Oh God! Book II’?
Can’t argue with someone whose pop culture references are so fresh.
I read Mr. Mercedes and The Outsider, and I wanted to dislike the re-imagined Holly before I saw her on screen. It didn’t take long to make me like this one as well. I wonder how much of her backstory and childhood will be explained. Is it necessary?
Wasn’t that Terry Maitland’s wife and two kids when they were in Ohio waiting for him to get back from visiting his father? Like Holly is a psychic or imagining what they were doing while Terry was gone for the day?
I am so fond of the way Holly was done in Mr. Mercedes that I didn’t think that I’d like this version at all but I was really impressed with her.
Forget it, Jake. It’s Roomgate.
I completely get its use in this article, but I can’t wait for The Room to stop being the default bad movie comparison. ‘It’s The Room of horrors films/biopics/presidencies/industrial disasters!’. The Room isn’t the be all and end all of bad films, despite what it’s oh-so-ironic cultists would have you believe.
Do you even Misfits, bro?
