“It was a tough loss,” said Reddick after the game. “I’ve gotta hit a wide open shot like that. What can I say ... I was the weak chink tonight.”

Counter Argument....ZaZa does not block many shots nor does he make many layups while guarded by any player, let alone a good one. He barely makes the open ones.

It’s highly likely that Steven Adams was just being quippy, because regardless of his actual reading skills/lack thereof, Steven Adams is one of the funniest people in the NBA and can deadpan like a motherfucker.

Nick Young didn’t slightly hit his knee. He dragged the back of his knee down as he was falling. And if he had gone straight down with his hands, his hands would have hit Westbrook’s knees. You all are weird about this one.

A filing cabinet can set a screen, but not one that will get Curry or Thompson an open shot.

I’m not saying it’s ideal, I’m just saying dude is paid to do a job. He keeps getting hired because there’s a role for his style of play. If he’s on YOUR team, it’s “physical play” and “Veteran toughness.” It is what it is, this is how non-athletic big dudes have made a living for decades. Suddenly this dude is the

14 year career and you found 8 dirty plays. Lets for sure get dude banned for life. Nice job Deadspin, keep up the good work.

nope

Sometimes you look in the Mirai and don’t like what you see.

Pfft, typical Anti-Warrior bias. You clearly aren’t showing the reverse angle which shows him getting lightly hit in the back of the knee to cause him to lose his balance before he goes and targets Westbrook’s knees with his body weight as he falls. Totally clean play.

Here is what pretty clearly happened if you watch the baseline angle:

On close inspection it looks like Westbrooks foot hooks the back of Zasas knee and buckles it sending him down on top of Westbrook.

It looks like Westbrook’s foot catches him in the back of the knee as he’s going down. There’s a bit of an odd delay between that and when he actually falls, but if you’ve ever had someone kick the back of your knee when you’re not expecting it, it can destabilize you, especially when you’re a giant oaf.

Make a GIF of the play from the footage behind the play, slow it down, it shows that Young’s foot was hooked behind Zaza’s knee almost all the way to the floor, and it was Russ falling on Young’s leg that pulled Zaza down

When I think of “Wells Fargo” and “bank robbery”

I mean I’m sorry for Jonathan Martin that he took it to heart and couldn’t over-come that, but nobody forced him to continue playing football. He could have used football for a college degree and gone into a kinder, gentler field. Does anyone have a reasonable expectation that professional sports (particularly male)

Man that is messed up, and right after he shoots Richie Incognito, I really think we need to take his guns away from him.

Move the arc out another 3-4 feet and possibly eliminate the corner 3 altogether. You immediately lower the expected value of shots outside the arc, thereby making midrange shots relatively more valuable.

They’re bored. It happens to all these repeat teams (except maybe the Lebron Heat). Imagine trying to get up for some hike around the local hill when you’ve approached the summit of Everest three times and climbed it twice.
