Sometimes there’s like an incredible comeback or upset and they say, “this is why they play the game.”

Again: they are basketball players, not office workers. It has not in any way, in the history of basketball, ever, been seen as inconsiderate to be loud when playing sports. Unless it is golf, diving, or tennis I guess.
“Looney jumped to try to tip the ball in, and Harden leaped to block Looney’s shot—making some contact with Looney’s arm and upper body. Again, no call was made.”
It was a critical game down 1 possession with a chance to steal the inbounds or for the Warriors to throw it away. It was a stupid T and Chris Paul is weakminded.
Because there were some shots where Harden initiated contact and some where Warriors jumped in his landing area?
CYO 7th graders know to foul in that situation without coaches telling them. This is not something the Denver fans did.
So, I really hate the Westbrook/Pop crap on the media thing and I would hate Draymond if I wasn’t a W’s fan but....
I’ll take that. This is a team that at their best crushes teams early and coasts, that’s their identity. They are not built for tight contests.
True and I was right there with you for a long time. It’s just I saw a shift. It’s all about how much time he spends with the ball looking for HIS shot versus now where he’s keeping the ball moving.
With a 1920's gangster-style facial scar too. Just noticed that on the postgame interview. Who cut Lou up?
What was really weird and I’d love to hear an explanation is why the Clippers went away from the Sweet Lou to Montrezl death pick and roll in the 4th?
This is basically it.
This take was so right until a week or two ago and so wrong regarding this series.
I write this as a fan of Russell Westbrook in many ways, but he is being a total asshole here.
Great stat. It’s just clear the explosiveness isn’t there and I keep waiting for it to show up. The counter point is that Paul George was doing heavy lifting all season then went quiet. I don’t buy the shoulder injury, he seems pretty violent when he gets near the rim and he looks smooth shooting from long range. If…
I’ve got to hand it to a guy who can turn himself into the shady part of a pro athlete paying off his mistress. Hats off.
The whole Russ story this year is kinda of a sad NBA subplot. He’s lost his legs, he’s not able to really hit shots, and he is acting up with the media and just making it worse. I thought his MVP speech a few years ago was really touching and showed another side of him, and I hope he ages more gracefully going…
There are guys in the NBA who get it and guys who don’t. George is one of those who doesn’t get it. Russ is a player who relies on physical domination and incredibly high energy and will not have a gentle or productive decline. George was foolish to team up with him longterm.
Russ’s legs are shot. That’s led to more perimeter offense. What happened to the violent drive and dunk three or four times a game? the ones where he obliterated someone and looked like an angry dragon doing it?
His agent also apparently represents Craig Kimbrel so he might have unique insight on some dramatic market change in player salaries but I think its more likely he has PTSD from Kimbrel not being signed.
