No. It’s a way of pointing out that most of what these children believe to be true is, in fact, not true, and that their stated goals are horse shit and dangerous. While, at the same time, expressing the optimism that if they had the chance to learn from people who know more than they do, they might do so.

All that being said, I don’t know how valuable these internships would even be to the Parkland kids. They’ve done more work on their own than they’d ever do as interns for a congressional office where nothing will happen anyway.
