Yeah, engaging the pawl doesn’t seem like it should make any difference vs. being in neutral.

Really?!
What’s this “park” that you speak of? You put it in neutral to save wear on you left leg.
Water is still recommended if there are no other options available at the time to contain the fire, and to prevent further thermal runaway.
Not sure if I’d call this an electrical fire. You don’t squirt water on something that is “live”. Sure the batteries can deliver electricity, but when they’re just sitting there, unconnected to anything, I would consider this more a chemical fire
But he will definitely quip, “and the only reason this made the news is because it’s an electric car.” Which is true.
A lot of Chinese companies just assume/hope they can get away with it because this sort of thing is so common and—despite episodes like this—enforcement is relatively rare.
This is pretty common practice at most industry trade shows. There’s always a handful of Chinese companies hawking knockoffs and look a likes at their booths.
its not shocking that they are so unethical as to base an entire industry off the IP of others.
“Judge, I submit that I brought the wrong tools to crack the bank vault. I don’t know what I was thinking. A hammer and chisel? Really? Really?? Anyhow, you can see I’m completely innocent of all crimes, so I’ll just be on my way.”

On the bright side, they missed out on this election too
Thank you for posting this. As soon as I stop crying for the 75th time I’m getting on the Addison bus with a box full of chalk. I have quite a few names to add to that wall.
It looks like a very successful test of the RoboSimian’s maneuvering thrusters. Notice there is no pitch or yaw, or any lateral movement. With all thrusters firing, it is a stable platform. Just another NASA success.
What’s the issue? This looks just like any other NASA launch I’ve seen.
