I don’t think these writers think they are sabotaging the show, they truly believe they are making it better with their changes -- but without understanding that these changes are actually despised by the core group of fans of the series, which in this case included the main star of the show. 

But I thought a remake/reboot/parody doesn’t mean the original doesn’t exist anymore — so what’s the harm?
