If I recall correctly, the Jezebel staff argued Sudeikis somehow conspired and orchestrated for Wilde to be publicly humiliated because he’s a white man and she’s a successful white woman when the serving happened.

It’s the use of “Otoko-no-ko” that really obfuscate things.

In the japanese dialogue, Bridget refers to themselves as otoko-no-ko — which is basically being gender non-conforming.

There was some drama a month or two ago when the translator for a manga published through Seven Seas decided to change the gender of a character — which actually caused the author and the japanese…

Well, good thing that I’m bisexual, so I’m unencumbered by such restrictive notions -- the real question is: are they a minor? If so, I’d stay away from them.
