He got his punishment, what do you want to do crucify him? What matters is that 1) no one got hurt 2) if he does it again they can go harder on him
It sounds worse than it is to a layman because we have speed limits designed for 1960's cars rather than 21st century ones and also because our cops are becoming less and less interested in thinking about appropriate speed for the conditions and driving standards than enforcing the letter of the law.
Not that the speeding shouldn’t have a bigger fine, but letting the reg lapse while out of town seems like it should be less. If the car was in a garage, would they have came and got it out to impound it? If not, that’s discriminating against people that aren’t able to garage their car.
Is drunk driving a “victimless” crime if no one is hurt?
I think everyone here knows what I mean. We all know a Marcus. Marcus, in the abstract, is the guy who you’ll have over to your house on Sunday for a few hours to watch football, but you know your girlfriend isn’t going to like it. By the third quarter, and 25 references to his “ball stink” later, your girlfriend goes…
That’s the best use of that $13 Ikea playmat carpet (or, you know, something close) that every single parent I know has. I want to go to my kid’s playroom and sweep the Hot Wheels and trains off that thing and cut holes for my pedals and gearshift right fucking now.
I don’t think so. American memory is so short term and the VW fanbase is still fairly loyal that if VW reintroduces a diesel when gasoline goes past $4/gallon they will hailed as the returning messiah. That said, if the new diesel engine fails on the Colorado and Canyon, there will be consumer calls for GM to be…
See my edit, I realized it wasn’t too clear. Basically in the area of emissions/mileage the targets keep moving, it’s never enough just to have things be clean enough (or safe enough, or what have you). There is so much extra junk on modern cars it’s just ridiculous. Sure they are safer but also far heavier etc, which…
“But it’s abundantly clear that Dieselgate has torpedoed diesel passenger cars in America not just for VW, but probably for every automaker too.”
No, The Government did that.
Edit: For clarity: By this I mean through ever-increasing/unrealistic/unnecessary levels of emissions controls. I realized after posting that it…
Some states (like MA) require proof of insurance before you can get plates. If he expected to drive it off the lot on June 1, he’d have to have insurance that was valid at 12:00:01AM on June 1.
I’ve ordered a (non-Ford) car from Europe that was also delayed considerably. However, I had access to an online tracker that was updated every few days, and my dealer had really detailed information every time I called. I was even able to figure out the vessel information and tracked my my car on a boat all the way…
Personally I don’t think “treat your most enthusiastic customers like crap until they actually take delivery of the car” is a great customer service policy.
I agree long, straight stretches of highway shouldn’t have any speed limits; however for long distances I’ve found out a speed of around 85-95 MPH is the fastest way to travel on an average car. Any faster and you’ll be looking at additional fuel stops that eat more into the trip time.
The US could use some stretches of highway like this.
I so much wish I had Bill Gatesian money. Buy Jeep and make it its own brand. Mercilessly kill off the Compass and Patriot. Bring back the SFA/I6/manual on all trims of the Cherokee and Wrangler. Then diesel everything. And build a new CJ-8 Wrangler and a J10 pickup.
Actually, low standards for food for me is to consistently limit the range of things you will eat. Liver is far more nutritious than steak, and more tasty , so are pork brains, delicious in quesadillas for example alongside carnitas. Porks head “Fromage de tête” in France is something my grandmother still prepared at…
Those who saw Evans expose himself said that it was no big deal.
I guess punching a producer doesn’t seem so bad now, does it?
The Acura TSX (Accord Euro R) is still one of the cleanest designed modern Japanese designs. I love it.
