Call me crazy, but wouldn’t the roadster never survive atmospheric reentry, even with a thinner atmosphere like Mars? Seems real unlikely that bacteria would survive not only absolute zero temps, but deadly gamma rays, then getting scorched while touching down...

Missed my point. Toyobaru is less fun both in twisty roads and straightline.

Because comparing HP numbers don’t tell the whole story. Would you rather have a car that has a faster 0-60, quicker laptimes but has less power on paper—like the FRS?

HP figures don’t tell the whole story, it’s how the engine makes that HP. FRS does so reluctantly, whereas say a K20 Honda does it escalating all the way to the redline.

More accurately, the bulletproof 2JZ and how it could pack on horsepower easily made it a tuner icon.

Fun sim, but did they ever fix the stall characteristics? Every plane wanted to do the same stall where it snaps and rolls/banks in one direction, which was always a peeve of mine

That 3-spoke wheel is not the E31 wheel, it’s a retrofit wheel with the airbag sensor integrated into the wheel itself. The E31 wheel doesn’t have a red airbag light on the bottom spoke.

As an irrational lover of Bimmers, I’d disagree and say lots of German stuff is VERY well engineered, but with amazing lapses of common sense.

As a BMW owner (who has a set of M-system Throwing Stars), think the AMG Penta is one of the coolest wheels made. Like AC Schnitzer Type II wheels but cooler.

The 500E is known as Porsche built, but in reality only the ones in 1993 were, the rest were built in the regular Merc factory. Porsche wanted more use out of its idle factory lines, hence the collaboration.

Nope—if it’s from Best Car magazine it’s a render. Don’t think they’ve ever leaked images, the only Japanese car mag that does is called something like Mag-X.

Best part of the story is one that will never be told.

There are two big differences with German and Italian unreliability.
- German cars have predictable (built-in?) weaknesses. For BMW it’s cooling. For BMW M cars it’s rod bearings. Audis it’s cooling, electrical. Italian cars get their bad rap because you don’t even foresee stuff that fail. They’re even creative in how

There’s not a kernel of truth to that.

Exit stage left...

Purpose is simple: Bad screenwriting.

I can tell a 3 Series apart from a 5 or 7. With Audi I have no idea what’s what just looking at the front. Or rear for that matter. Used to be able to distinguish a C and E class, not anymore though...

What, no mention of Ghost in the Shell and it’s weirdly futurized Lotus Excel?

Funny how people feel the need to defend this movie, and against its criticisms.

Disagree that they fought it make it “less safe.” They fought to have more control of what to do with their cars.
