I think I started late in 2017 or 2018, so I was late to the game compared to you. But yes, the times did feel simpler.

I have a desk in the ED, with no doors between me and any of our patients, and I work in the direct sight line of the patients in our psych bed. So yeah, I know. I see and hear it all.

You didn’t imply it. I’m just a little run down because people are burning out at work, and our ED staff has had to put up with a lot lately, like two to three times as many patients at one time as we are equipped and staffed to treat, and several times this week, police have had to be called to help deescalate

It's truly the least of my concerns these days, but I appreciate the support.

This is especially true for healthcare workers, particularly EMS (most EMTs and paramedics work 24 hours in a row and then get 48 hours off, and there is plenty of data about the increased risk for heart disease, stroke, MI, etc., from working this schedule. It’s only been recently that doctors and surgeons were

It’s faze, not phase, and likewise, unfazed. A phase is a brief trend or period of time, whereas the verb faze means to bother or perturb.

I love Out of Sight. Such a good movie, and her chemistry with George held my interest throughout the film. I think it was some of the best work I have seen from each of them.

I work from 1:30-10 now instead of 11-7:30, so I don’t get home until about 11 if I don’t have to get gas or stop at the 24h Walgreens first. I’m in bed by 1 AM most of the time, and trying to avoid my phone that late. And my mornings are filled with tasks I used to do at night, like dishes, laundry, and tidying, and

Busy, but not exhausted. I got moved to a later schedule at work, so my days are filled in a different way. I replied to Rooo's email. The address she used is one I created for people on Kinja, etc. to use, and is not my primary one, so many days passed before I noticed it.

How did anyone believe that this dickwad is an attorney with years of experience? He looks like a child playing dress-up.

Tonight’s sunset was pretty great. Leaving these here for anyone who needs some soothing color and swirly clouds tonight. Lord knows I’m with you.

Absolutely. Call for an ambulance and they will send an ALS vehicle with highly trained paramedics and EMTs and all the medications needed to stabilize someone in any type of cardiac arrest or having a stroke or MI. They also have the ability to go lights and sirens and get priority on the roads than you as an Average

One of Ellen’s obnoxious interests is interior design, which would not be awful if she were to, say, go admire the interiors of structures her friends own, or public properties, or buying magazines, but instead it manifests as buying, redesigning, and selling a different mansion every year or two. Moving that often

Donald Trump is well known for requiring NDAs with anti-disparagement clauses of almost anyone who ever worked for him. For a long time, the document itself was enough of a threat to keep people silenced, but they have been speaking out in greater numbers in the last few years.

I’m just waiting for the reveal that Matt wrote this unsigned letter himself, and the women who have the misfortune of working for him are appalled by it.

Long COVID can be horrifically debilitating. I would be concerned, too.
