And different cultures definitely do have varying healthcare needs (I never said significantly different, by the way). But due to varying diets, genetic make-ups, etc, different diseases will be more prevelant based on those factors.

Yeah, prison still has to be prison, which for the likes of Cohen, it really isn’t. But the American idea of prison is seriously pretty much what the apocalypse looks like. Some of the worst prisons aren’t different than the society the Walking Dead portrays, minus the zombies. It breeds recidivism.
At its core it’s not a bad argument, that argument essentially being “let’s make capitalism work for more people, let’s make it less top-heavy”. Because hasn’t republican politics and cronyism made capitalism work more and more for the insanely wealthy? Selling us on trickle-down nonsense, passing tax reform that is…
At the very least he won’t go quietly into the night, nor will he have concession speech befitting his hopefully former office. He will make just as much of a stink of leaving the office as does while in it.
“Nicely dodging the argument that “culture” does not impact either what healthcare needs a human has, or how that care needs to be administered.”
good point. “Socialism is bad, but social security is okay, because we benefit from it”
oh I know it, haha
This is exactly it.
True. I don’t however want to give SJW a bad name, because it can also be an honorable title. I think it should be at any rate.
I’ll just quote myself:
Well said! I hope they take you out of the greys soon.
Thank you.
Yeah, I hope so too, even a fraction of it would be a win.
Yeah, I’ve heard both positive and negative things about Canada’s healthcare. I don’t know enough about it though to really draw any conclusions. But it seems that at least having the peace of mind to not be financially ruined by getting sick is a plus.
Vermont is something like 97% white. All I’m saying is that in that sense they compare to Denmark, both countries are largely one culture.
I too got lucky and was able to itemize, it saved me a bundle on my 2018 taxes, I still ended up worse off than 2017 though.
But for an apples to apples comparison, things that are covered by Danish taxes are cost of living expenses in the US: Education & Healthcare (premiums + out of pocket). Adding the two together I believe gets you very close IF you are a family or someone that frequently requires healthcare or if you are educating…
I think the main problem that it was a post very open to be misunderstood. And that’s in-part my fault for writing it in such a way. I’ve been accused of all kinds of things I didn’t mean to imply. But I’ll be alright! Haha.
I mentioned all those factors. Thankfully they do not apply to me currently, I’m healthy, college paid for and no kids. But again if any of that changes, I absolutely agree with you, I’ll probably be paying 50%+.
I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to say.
