Fun to confirm that Tony Stark canonically knows what Gundam is, since some of his moves in Infinity War seemed very mecha-inspired.
Nah, figure that Killmonger knows what happened there. There’s just no point in him revealing it to anyone when he’s trying to slide into the power vacuum left by T’challa’s death.
I assume the distinction is that he lied to, framed, and endangered Wakanda. He absolutely worked hard for it, but I can see why T’Challa would argue against that being “earning” it.
I'd add Klaw to the list of good ones. He doesn't do much, but Andy Serkis was clearly having a blast playing him in Black Panther. He does a great job chewing the scenery.
really having fun with this series as a whole. certainly could nitpick stuff if i felt like it, but i am in no way compelled to.
What If ... Marvel refused to update “Salvage Yard, African Coast” from Age Of Ultron?
The access to a legion of drone corpses is a deduction the show asks you to make yourself, yes.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t really known for its iconic, well-rounded villains, as for every Thanos and Loki, there’s a Malekith and a Whiplash. But there is at least one exception to that rule: Michael B. Jordan’s Erik Stevens, a.k.a. N’Jadaka, a.k.a. Killmonger.
Fun narrative, as a story it was a good one.
This episode mostly feels off to me mainly because it feels like an intentional Part 1. For the previous episodes, generally , we come in some time past the actual What If branching moment and are seeing the outcome of the ripples it caused. Here we see the event and only get the beginning of the ripples. Obviously,…
The drones used a JARVIS network.
The drones were littered about everywhere after the battle for study.
Killmonger evidently only managed to wipe the murder of Stark footage.
Suri found the same footage that Stark did.
Suri was already suspicious due to Killmonger’s “2nd transmitter” comment.
It was nice to get back to a proper What If story after the last two weeks.
I was very into this until the end. It concludes where I wanted it to—with Killmonger being shaken by T’Challa’s words—but it is so abrupt that it feels incomplete. But if these threads are going to be picked back up, maybe this season will work holistically.
But how are we supposed to know if Tony is in touch with the “real America” if he doesn’t watch NASCAR or use MySpace?
So I took it that the nexus event is N’Jobu being killed by “gang violence” as Killmonger said, rather than by T’Chaka.
I got a big laugh from the attack on the convoy happening a few seconds early, which is clearly the result of the crew rewatching the original scene and panicking a bit at its now extremely dated Myspace reference.

I don’t know, sounds like a pretty positive ending to me.
Ooh, now this is what I was waiting for.
