I don’t have to wait for you to zoom past. You can fucking wait for me to get past the person who is actually driving slow. And if I want to pass four or five cars in the slow lane, at a brisk pace, well just cool your jets and save some fucking gas.”

And the only people who died were the ones who decided to run away at high speeds. The two other vehicles who stopped were safely detained. Lets put blame where it belongs, on the people who broke the law.

I agree that there are better ways to handle the situation, but for people to put the blame almost exclusively on the officers is disingenuous at best. These people didn’t have to run. they could have pulled over like the other two cars did.

So that allows them to break our laws? I’m not saying our immigration process is right but its the law of the land right now.

Glad to see you’ve added some enlightenment to the conversation!

I actually think that using helicopters to fallow at a safe distance would probably be a better idea, but to assume that one is available immediately and thus requires no action to be taken by officers on the ground is disingenuous.

Thats assuming they have a helicopter in the air near by who can get a visual on the car before the officers on the ground give up.

“Just because something is legal or policy doesn’t make it not a disproportionate response. Those two ideas are not mutually exclusive.” When you’re using it to describe law enforcement yes they are mutually exclusive because a police force will not use force they consider disproportionate or they’ll be destroyed in

Ok, looking back I wanna make my position a little more clear. I think that this incident is a tragedy and I think that pursuit policy should be reviewed. If they have the ability they should follow at a safer distance to deescalate if something like air response is available or an overwhelming number of officers are

True, there is a change in tactics and policy used for perusing suspects, but these officers didn’t violate any policy that we know of so calming that this is a disproportionate response isn’t accurate. You’re also assuming that these people are all non-violent when clearly they were willing to put everyone else’s

So just give up on trying to apprehend criminals in the hopes that they’ll stop committing crimes?

But refusing to stop for police is in fact a felony, and doing so at a high rate of speed only adds to the violation. So yes, they had every right to attempt to stop these people.

Because they’re trying to imply that big scary mean guys with guns forced innocent people into a crash and killed them.

wow, glad to see you’re calling for the death of American citizens. Nice job.

Or, you know, the people fleeing from police could have just..... stopped?

“ Sending him there was as good as executing him here.” He wasn’t sent anywhere he left on his own accord.

As long as it’s not a .40 cal Hi Point.

Actually, that happens all the time. Usually a description of a person going out to officers on the street is just race and last known clothing type/color. It sucks but the majority of the time that’s what they have to work with.

Resorting to insults and parroting the same lines while outright dismissing real concerns as “red herrings” is the sign of someone who’s incapable of debating.
