As a guy, I just want to say that this is tough. I want to be clear that the guys who did this stuff was wrong,
but men are left in a Catch-22. I’m sure I will be eviscerated, but here goes the reasoning.

Please stop. Do not make excuses for this. If you are what you say, you know that these men chose to be this way. People like you are responsible for this not being as stigmatized as it should be.
I think part of the problem is that people constantly misuse the more well-known term PTSD when what they really mean is PTS - Post Traumatic Stress - or more accurately classified: Acute Stress Reaction (ASR, which can develop into PTSD if left untreated).
“soft-boiled clitoris” might be the most disgusting string of words I’ve ever heard.
When I die, I want to be buried in a casket made out of Jet’s 8 corner pizzas.
and yet, no “alleged” for Pat Tillman’s death definitely-at-enemy-hands-not-friendly-fire, no-sir.
It’s a shame that class was scheduled before “How to read an article 101".
In my Mass Media Law class in college, I was taught that “allegedly” is a weak protection, and it’s safer to carefully source allegations and not use that word.
It’s no more libelous to say “Bob claims sue stole his pencil.” than “Bob claims sue allegedly stole his pencil.” One is just redundant.
Holy shit, this is not a complex topic, and yet 90% of the commenters are totally thrown. Diana is NOT advocating for the right to libel people at will. She is arguing that the words “alleged” and “accused” are bad ways to carefully source allegations.
Wow, so basically either 90% of the initial commenters didn’t read the article at all and just came down here to be like “But innocent until proven guilty, yo!” or entirely missed “It is not a call to believe things just because we say them. It is asking to give us the same benefit of the doubt—or lack thereof—granted…
Seeing a lot of comments in here from people who clearly didn’t actually read the post. Don’t be that person.
They’re entitled to a presumption of innocence from the legal system.
He literally became a Democrat just so he could cash in on resources (resources he never helped raise in his career) and then he and his supporters were aghast when the party didn’t roll out the red carpet.
The entitlement is staggering.
There’s a looooooot of assumptions about me and what I think you just made. I’m not mad, I’m bored. As tiresome as you find the anti-Bernie bandwagon, I find it similarly tiresome that Bernie continues to be held to the metric of “did Hillary say something worse?!”
You’re right. Hillary did say that. It was racist. Can we move on now?
Feel free to take y’azz elsewhere then.
You don’t have to be marching down the street with tiki torches and Klan outfits to be white supremacist. If you’re willing to bargain over issues using POC as leverage, hello, you’re a white supremacist.
He also backed a pro-life democrat in Illinois. He sees women’s reproductive issues a bartering issue, when we know damn well that reproductive freedom is economic freedom and restrictive reproductive care will impact WOC more than white women. Fuck that shit Bernie Sanders
A man that has perpetually resonated as ‘skeevy to the 10th power’ was photographed groping a minor? Color me not shocked.
