Speedy was considered problematic, but then a large population of folks Mexican and of Mexican descent protested saying they identified with him. He was brought back. Identity politics, and it being left to white people with good intentions, is complicated.

Enlighten me?

Actually, Marx did predict that. He said capitalism would expand beyond the village and eventually create a worldwide network, and that communism would learn from that and take it over.

I agree with your thoughts on the term. Even though I benefit daily from being a white male, I never feel privilege unless I stop a moment and think. Life is hard and I work hard and the term feels like it negates the work. The concept is real, and I know that.

How, I wonder, do you have people see their privledge, change accordingly but also feel good about what they DID earn? I feel this is key.

White Male Here. First, the NYTimes article is great. Second, I intellectually “get” it, but there are aspects that are tough emotionally (I know, boo hoo).

I firmly believe that the path forward is to focus on issues that matter: Healthcare, education, infrastructure, safe neighborhoods, etc. I read an analysis that pointed out that what matters most to black mothers (those issues above) are the winning issues across all demographics. Vision.

I’m not a big Sanders fan since he got into the Senate, but this was a good own that also underscored who he is.

Commenter in alternative world where NASCAR doesn’t exist: People just go to track meets to see people impaled.”

7. Ketchup vs. Mustard race. Kids dressed in cute ketchup and mustard costumes run from first to third. Adorable.

Nothing to add; just wanted to say this is a really good article.

You can buy shells that also replace the buttons; you just swap out the electronics.  Good luck.

My son had a drift issue with the right joycon and I figured replacing the control was a folly I’d lose little trying. I figured since I was in, I’d replace the shells, too.

Wormtail. It’ll end like that, with Emadi doing one, small thing that allows our hero to get to the final act.

Brady’s aloofness is reason #236 why everyone hates New England. They don’t “hate us because we win”: No one hated Joe Montana and Jerry Rice and the 49s. No, you either want to punch him in the face or you’ve got his jersey and poster on your wall—no middle ground. I’ve never figured out why that is. I’m a NE fan and

The Baton-Rouge police department called her “a treasure to our community,” and said they were working diligently to determine who was responsible for committing “this heinous act.”

Why would you do this?  Fuck him.

First, those sneakers are really ugly. Kaepernick did Nike a favor. Second, I really respect Kaepernick and the longer he’s without a job I find being an NFL fan more and more awkward. I hope he returns and wins the SB for a city that deserves it and will worship him until he’s dead (like, in 90 years).

No. We can’t let them take everything and make it a symbol for hate. No, no, no. The Ross flag is fine and symbolizes plenty of good things, too. I’d like to reclaim some of this stuff. They already ruined the hole game, a game WHERE YOU GET TO PUNCH PEOPLE. No this. No.

Brady doesn’t have to do anything. He’s the GOAT and the NFL looks silly for pursuing this whole, stupid affair. He spent time in Italy with his supermodel wife and NE still went to the Superbowl. I’m sure those footballs were a tad soft, but if I were Brady I’d never give my phone to anyone. If everyone didn’t love
