Actual question from a 51 year old white man living in white Vermont: Is it getting worse or is it the same old shit?

I will believe that you “agree with many of the positions fowarded” when you join, en mass, the protests in the street and help change things.

Congress has been giving the executive branch the power to interpret its laws for over a century. I’m not an originalist, but if congress can’t get specific in the moment why should anyone do anything other than take their laws literally years later?

There was one episode in the first season, around the attempted assassination, where half the episode was people driving here or there.  And it was clear everything important seemed to happen in abandoned office or manufacturing parks.  With, like, three agents.

I’m sorry, but I’m going to praise Andy Reid. He saw Smith unappreciated in San Francisco, got him and lead him to a steady, no turnover few years (Reid’s philosophy is to a) have no turnovers, b) dominate time of possession = win). Then, he got rid of him just in time.

Bale looks okay, but I gotta lean towards Richard Dreyfus in “W”.

Xe or Ze (and there are others) confuse people (heck, I still see people confused over Ms., and most people think it just means Miss). No decent alternative has floated to the top (yet).

This does not seem like a person who will sit behind the bench, reserve judgement and listen to the little guy (or girl) against the big corporation.

She says there’s a video. He says no video exists. Let her show some independent authority the video to at least prove that such a thing exists. It does not mean he did or did not do something, but it does attest to their word at a basic level.

What’s really interesting about the coaching tree is that, after the former Belichick assistant leaves, the team has a really good year or two. My theory is that they begin to change the culture, but winning does not happen fast enough and it causes too many complaints so the owner bounces them. The next competent

Hard alcohols are carb free, and red wine is good that way, too.  Don’t worry so much about the calories.

The goalie cannot pick up a ball passed to them from their own teammate. For some refs in the youth league (my son is goalie in U12) it has to be an intentional pass, but doing this repeatedly would probably be interpreted as that. As my son has approached older youth leagues, some refs call any touch from a teammate

A depressing offshoot of this piece is that trying to help leads to worse problems. Johnson tries to encourage entrepreneurship after Watts and dietary changes doom generations to unhealthy eating and stereotypes.  Include POC in ads and murals and it only deepens the problem.  Sigh.

When things go zero tolerance, people just cover things up or look the other way or, worse, justify it. It’s bad enough already. There needs to be a way back for people who make a mistake—in the justice system AND in personal and professional life. Redemption.

I’m having trouble fathoming this.

I live in Vermont and Bernie is up for a new six year term. It bothers me that he will not say what his intentions are.

I can’t stop looking at that headshot. What a great photo, when every other sports photo is a scowl.

I’m going to defend Patricia. It’s just one game. Plus, as you are always reminded, “He’s LITERALLY a ROCKET SCIENTIST” (so, smart, right? Like Elon Musk).

I’m going to defend Bezos a little bit. In the days when no one was quite sure what the internet even was or how to make money, he struck the exact right product (books!) that was both ubiquitous and non-glamorous. Exactly the people who would be against the internet (readers) had a home and an outlet (reviews). He

You know those Young Republican college assholes they show pictures of, who later quietly disappear into banking and investment and pull the string from behind the curtain?
