Yes, a risk. I had a friend in that situation, too (30 hours of labor and the kid got stuck). If you can afford that chance, I’d recommend midwife and homebirth if you are a candidate for it. People have to do what works for them, which includes being able to afford it. But I recommend families look into the option.

Wait, they said they can’t discuss personnel issues—how’d the list of violations get out?

People ask us why we had a home birth, with a non-nurse midwife, instead of going to the hospital. This was ONE reason—flat fee, adjusted to income, that was half of what the hospital charged (assuming no complications).

If you only pour 8oz of water through your grounds, do you not get the full strength? Can I use the grounds for a second cup (for a total of 16oz hot water filtering through)?

I get that it’s James Cameron’s show, but he’s in half the shot while Lucas is talking. Worse, he keeps repeating what Lucas says, finishing his sentences and saying “yup” constantly.

The only way this could be better is for Trump to stop being president.

I do that with gifts—one big thing as a souvenir. Giant snake stuffed animal, “cool” giant model of the Eiffel Tower, Colonial era pop-gun.... I don’t argue and they shut up the rest of the trip.

I kind of want to see Dirty Harriet. Like, watch an episode of Handmaid’s Tale and then an episode of Dirty Harriet. Jane Lynch or someone with a great, arresting face holding a big gun on some punk.

Imaginary Worlds is a podcast about sci fi and fantasy, and their episode “28 Days of Black Cosplay” talked about black people playing white characters and visa versa. In short, play the character. You can wear the Black Panther costume, but do it with your natural skin color.

I find the person becomes dependent on me to balance them. My co-worker uses me to balance her negative feelings about our boss, for example. Great for her, but I’m balanced the other way and, long term, start seeing all of our boss’ flaws.

I think there is a difference between the odd inclusion of a product (as they do in The Office—I always think of Dwight and Trip Advisor) vs. the self-conscious wink (Wayne’s World, which I laugh at, but it’s different).

Ironic everything sucks because it is someone (often with power) making fun of someone else—that’s the irony.

I’m old and was told growing up that NO ONE should use such words because it gave license to others.

Yes, I get that. I still think you hand a person a tissue and return to the topic.

How does this move anyone forward? Someone is upset and crying. You help them with an act of kindness. Give them a tissue. It’s called being human.

but King’s team has defended (naturally) its decision to go after a teenager

I want a whole movie about Killmonger and Klaue’s gang. I got just about enough of Klaue in Black Panther, but Killmonger and that crew has a story wanting to be told apart from Wakanda.

He is horrible on SNL News. Like, bad. Not very clear and no inflection; he doesn’t seem to believe in the jokes.

I read up on a shows on Wikipedia.
