As someone who bought all three versions of Integra new from the dealer (I was their target demo in my 20's & 30's) if Acura makes manual, hot-hatch that doesn’t look like a Civic I will buy it even though I’m now in my 50's.

I mean you are correct in a universe where corporations take the advice that is given to us normals (which is keep an emergency fund on hand). But that is not how corps work except for a few tech companies that spin off more cash than they know what to do with.

Let’s face it, most corporate CEOs are a dime a dozen and highly replaceable, so if they slightly mismanage the company there’s another carbon copy waiting right outside the door, who will do what every other CEO does as soon as he/she gets the role: announce reductions and cost cutting

My guess is it’s about the stock prices. Make some news about a change in leadership, announce a plan to bring the company back into profits and keep those shareholders happy. I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone who will likely get a massive severance to not work.

I bought a brand new Mazda6 in 2017. It now has 40k miles.  Statistically, right now is the worst time for me to sell the car. The depreciation curve is just starting to flatten out, and I still have 2 years left to pay it off.
