Thanks for this, always looking for good car related podcasts
Cafeterias are very complicated, everybody knows that; but we’ve got a plan, a great plan.
Camaro GT4.R = Street Fighter II: Champion Edition?
Fake exhaust and mufflers. I once saw an LX Civic coupe with eight mufflers lined up in the center of the car. They must’ve known that the secret to horsepower was two headers per cylinder.
So glad the dealer I went to didn’t put any of their branding on the car, just the license plate frame.
Agreed. I was going to take off the “SkyActiv” and “Mazda6" and just leave the Mazda logo until I found out that the “Mazda6" badge had post holes behind it (Skyactiv was a sticker). I ended up leaving both because I didn’t want it to look uneven.
Is this something that could/should be recalled? I can’t count how many times I’ve waited for a GM to back-out of a parking space only to see the owner walk up to the car 10 seconds later.
That the first thing I thought. I think it’s because the hood slopes down hard towards the front, along with the bulging fenders contrasted by the tucked in sides.
I think the saving grace for this car might be the availability of a cheaper 4 cylinder engine and AWD. Hopefully, the RWD Turbo 6 will have a halo effect and the thing does look good. Still wish KIA would put the damn logo inside the grill.
Personal car? I mourned the day my Chevy Blazer was totaled. It got 11MPG, highway speeds meant noisy interior, and it had more suspension and steering problems than I care to list, but I loved it.
Damn it, I can’t unsee it now!
Always wanted a Type S in that amazing blue. Unfortunately, when it came time to buy a new car last year, I had to make the responsible choice and go for something with better mileage and didn’t require premium.
It’s definitely something with the dealers, but it’s a chicken and egg problem. And I’m always hearing about bad service during purchase or maintenance/repairs. I had a good experience during my purchase, but the salesman I dealt with owned a Mazda, so he knew how to sell it, and he was actually passionate about the…
It’s not about the sales figures. Big performance numbers get people in the door, and if they can’t afford the higher performance model or are happy after driving the base model, they buy the base. You need the halo effect.
That’s the problem. Most people buying cars don’t do the research and simply go with what they know or what their friends recommend. They don’t read C&D or Motortrend; at best they read Consumer Reports which doesn’t recommend Mazda as highly as Toyota or Honda.
This is my kind of collection. I’ve always joked that if I became wealthy, I’d have a ton of cars well below the $100K mark, most would be classic Japanese icons.
Damn it, now it’s got me feeling anxious about the look. I think the main problem (aside from not having two pipes) is that it’s too close to the middle of the car without being in the middle. If it was a center exhaust or even just pushed out further tot he left of the car, it would look a lot better.
...I picked him too because he was the only one that had medium tone skin. I really wish you could just tint out the windshield, at least just for photos.
