How dare you taint a cult classic like ‘Robocop’ by comparing it to ‘Captain Marvel’.

No problem with someone liking a film that I don’t. To pretend that this was anything other than a branding exercise (“LOOK HOW DARK STAR WARS IS”) is just delusional. It’s a bad soldiers-on-a-mission film by any fair standard: clumsy plotting, poor characterisations, risible dialogue. Yet people claim it is fresh and

It’s just Japanese for animation. Noone disagrees with this, especially on the internet.

I would go even farther and say things like Touristas, The Midnight Meat Train, and Hostel are really on the edge of body horror and flat out torture porn. Regular horror movies often have some body horror in them, but these types of films focus is on the body as the self, and how the destruction of the body is

Some variation on this comment has come up in all three of these reviews, and it perplexes me. Professional critics aren’t obligated to calibrate their expectations in such a way that every movie gets a good grade - that’s more or less the opposite of their job. They’re supposed to bring a wide-ranging knowledge of

It does. But you have to read about that in actual industry informed publications like Variety, HW or a publication with actual journalists. When that happens it will be linked here in a blog post. Generally with some snark that misses the point.

The show had two really great episodes. The first and the attack on Black Wall Street in Tulsa.

You think someone deserves to get PIT’d because they wanted to find a safe spot to pull over?

Watching and understanding are two very, very different things for some of the bloggers around here.

So people like Ellie Kemper’s parents are responsible for an article at the AV Club that roasts Ellie Kemper? This is like an Escher drawing.

The funny thing is that I’m not some huge fan of Kemper’s. I didn’t watch The Office. I thought that she was good in Bridesmaids. I liked Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and thought that she was good in it, too, but it’s not like she’s one of my favorite actors.

I’m going to dissect this bullshit one bit at a time:

And, I would add, less interested in this web site.

I was surprised by the other article and it’s invertebrate analysis of this ‘controversy’; Sam Barsanti is a different story, his idiotic ramblings are just his version of professional blogging. He’s got the editorial talent of a goat.

I thought Death was explicitly based on Cinamon Hadley, so yeah it would make a bit more sense, but also...I don’t care. There’s an East Asian Death at one point.

I’d rather Death look like she did in the comics, but meh. That’s life.
Desire, on the other hand, was non-binary before anyone was using the word non-binary.  It’s kind of a character trait.

There’s more black people at Veiled Prophet Ball than work at the AV Club

Oh man, you didn’t check in to see how this insane stretch of a nothing-burger was getting roasted over at The Root? Cause it’s getting no traction there, and it feels like their readership should know.

I’m not really interested in seeing an emotionally-fragile teenager work out his daddy issues through violent outbursts... but enough about the NHL, what’s this Evangelion thing?

Fun fact: You can not approve of a country’s actions without turning into crazed racists.
