LA is very stupid

Nobody other than Christopher Nolan thinks HBO Max is the worst. It’s one of the best, and probably better than Netflix at this point. But he did call it the worst. That’s why it’s in quotation marks.

Change the channel, Marge.

I always thought it was odd he lived in that dream house, with a beautiful wife, a son who owns a factory and lobster for dinner.. Meanwhile I live in a single room over a bowling alley and under another bowling alley.

It’s the exact same thing. The requirement of an inserted disclaimer pointing at the ridiculed character to clarify “this is actually the bad person do not be like that”. The age of literalness, the impossibility of satire (or even dark humor -humour noir- in general, as the evolution of Charlie Hebdo shows) when

Because the POINT of Blazing Saddles is to shit on racists. The fact that people feel the need to put a disclaimer about racism on it is a severe own goal.

I don’t generally look for good character development in 10 minute comedic cartoon shorts from nearly 100 years ago.

But we’ve entered a world where Blazing Saddles needs a disclaimer to inform the public that the racists in the movies are the baddies.

Pepe got comeuppance a lot in the old cartoons. He’s supposed to be an oblivious character who can’t foresee that the cat is going to smash him with a mallet, and he’s there to be laughed at.

And you know it’s a negative because no one makes the punchline “you go through men faster than Leonardo DiCaprio goes through the newest models”.

The audience was out of hand.

So for the record: people like Dickens or Cervantes, who were successful and their works of art have endured and became part of the canon, weren’t actually the equivalent of blockbusters. They were writing, knowingly, in a slightly more art-than-content milieu. We know this. We know how their works were received. We

I don’t doubt that somewhere, someone exists who has spent a significant amount of time berating someone for not watching The Irishman the right way, but it also sounds suspiciously like a construct—a mythically rude and myopic Scorsese fanboy who is somehow vastly more powerful than the thousands of extremely

Ah, true, Martin Scorsese, famously lacking in historical knowledge of cinema.

Also: man, Ninja Yoda SUCKED. Hated that these films gave him and Palpatine lightsaber fights. When I watched the original trilogy, I imagined that both light & dark masters had transcended the need to use lightsabers- that’s why they had knights/apprentices to do all the hack & slashing. Who needs a sword when you

In two years it will only be repeats of Ridiculousness.

The issue is less with not enjoying Citizen Kane and more in his “no films made before 1975" rule and his implication that there’s nothing for modern audiences in that film or others from its era. Personally, I think Citizen Kane is a helluva good time and I don’t need a breakdown of every new technique it pioneered

This is 1000x more embarrassing than the Snyder Cut.

Finally!!! The iconic Cruella de Vil gets an iconic origin story! Iconic! Love this IP! So iconic!
