I have just started doing this within the last two weeks (though I set it to 11). In order to ...nudge... myself in this direction and not be up all night surfing the web, I did two important things.

I have to cast my vote with those who think this is an awesome idea! (albeit pretty geeky)
Wow! This is even better than the "+" trick, which doesn't work in all web forms. [lifehacker.com]
great....fought it all winter, caught it last night...dragged myself to class....started paying attention (aka reading lifehacker) and this is the first thing I read.......bleck.
Oh my gosh. Seek help. Just because your addiction doesn't come in small bags on dark alleys doesn't mean it is healthy to be so controlled by anything. Few things in life are that important.
@pschroeter: Yes, I found this out too. Try "Remove Empty Directories" — [www.jonasjohn.de] it has worked really well for me and is fast as well.

I'm poor and out of ink.... paperless is easy :)
That was a good commercial. :)
I killed nearly a GB. :) I always wanted to get rid of those, just needed someone with more knowledge (or guts) to tell me it was okay. I really wish I had known about this on my tablet a few months ago... would have been a huge help.
@marsm: Seconding the light on a timer. As a senior in college with 5 (yes...FIVE!) 8:00 AM classes, I find this one very helpful. In addition, I set the timer to flick off at 11:00 PM so that when I am reading Lifehacker and forget about sleep I get a gentle reminder.
The ribbon only improves productivity for mouse-driven users. (How many times have we discussed keyboard shortcuts and their advantages here??) Oh, and if you say something to the effect of "But the NEW keyboard shortcuts are great, and come up ON SCREEN!" then I would kindly ask you to test the speed of the new…
@ISH91 "As much as I hate Vista, it never hurts to have an extra copy of an OS lying around the house." —Exactly.
I go to a school where (as at most other schools) Facebook is more ubiquitous than "textbooks." However, I simply refuse to buy in. If someone can't go to the effort of sending me an email or (gasp!) a letter, then they really don't care that badly to connect with me. They would be wise to assume that goes both…
You can even use them to draw on some computer screens. (Yes, there are times I've done this.)
.... Brillant idea. This should ease the arm pain I've been starting to feel, especially in mouse INTENSIVE applications such as Pro/ENGINEER.
This is a case where this is useful:
I also recommend Acronis for backing up your files and partitions. In fact, I restored an image to my tablet today. Every time I do, it makes me thank Heaven for the thirty dollars that I was wise enough to spend on a license of True Image Home. After restoring the image, I made MS SyncToy restore all of my…
