@BKJ216: bypass your cable box and watch straight cable. Cable companyies have battery backups on the pole to keep signal going for people w their phone service.

Not many people realize that your cable signal is still going during a power outage because they have batteries on the poles in order to keep phone modems up as required by the FCC. So plug your modem into your UPS too and surf with the light outs!

I work for a cable company as a technician and an astounding number of ppl watch 4x3 SD with "zoom" on b/c they don't like the black bars; even on HD b/c non-HD (like local) commercials are 4x3.
