“You know what people liked? Guardians of the Galaxy.” - WB.
He’s actively working to re-write strong lead roles from male to female, so that’s something. Maybe he will work to do the same with races (which should be quite simpler in most cases). However, I think you do him some injustice with this list. The family in The Decendents were not intended to look native or part…
Thursdays and Fridays are the best days to have them because there is more viewership. Saturday is the lowest in the weak. People prefer to do other things like go to family, friends or on date nights on Saturdays.
And I guess all the Iranian actors in Argo don’t count either. Cause, you know, that’s a segment of the population that is normal well-represented (numbers wise) in film.
Slow your roll Bro. People don't watch tv during the week?
And August:Osage County had a native American actress and role.
Yeah, this article was kind of confusing, it didn’t really point out which movies he produced or directed (meaning he would have some influence over casting) and which ones he just starred in. I can’t fault him for simply acting in not very diverse films, he doesn’t have control over casting someone else’s movie. I…
Also worth saying that the writer/director/producer of Gravity is Mexican, and the film had one of the best female roles of the year. That’s a hard one to call out as not being a diverse film.
I mean, why does he HAVE to make movies to satisfy anyone other than himself? Nevermind the fact that the article is equating movies where Clooney had a role with movies he’s “making”...there’s definitely a difference.
“Chloë Grace Moretz, Kiersey Clemons and Beanie Feldstein”
He’s still the 9th-highest paid actor in Hollywood, all-time, so his cries of discrimination seem a bit overblown. Also, he just wasn’t that good in “Concussion.” Samuel L. Jackson was much better in “The Hateful Eight,” and I haven't heard shit from him.
They aren’t supporting up and comers though. Most of their “support” is for Will (seriously, look at the list - half of them starred Will and/or one of their kids and it would be slightly more than half if they had kept with their original idea of “Annie” being a vehicle for Willow and one of the movies was Jada’s…
Regarding the “doesn’t your man have a mouth” comment, I think she meant that since HE’S the one who didn’t get nominated, he should be the one speaking. I don’t think she meant it like “the man should be the one that speaks”
I kind of agree with aunt Viv. Will and Jada are delusional about their acting capabilities. Bitter or not, she didn’t say anything that wasn’t true.
I haven’t seen it yet, because that’s totally a Netflix movie, but all the reviews seem to agree that he’s pretty good in an okay but kind of melodramatic, boring movie. So, he did a pretty good job, the movie doesn’t suck, but it’s not so great either.
Michael B. Jordan should have been nominated.
It was a bad movie and he was bad in it. Just my opinion. I haven’t seen Beasts, but Idris is always great and I don’t even have to watch it to know he deserves a nom over Will.
“You have a huge production company [where] you only produce your friends, family and yourselves so you are a part of Hollywood. You are a part of the system that is unfair to other actors so get real.”
Bitter, sure, but she made some good points, no? If she asked Will to organize and ask for more money for their show, and she got that answer (“I got my deal, you got your own deals”), she has a point.
