How about as a grinder/polisher?
An interesting idea/prediction I've seen floating around is that Apple may buy Tesla. It would definitely be a big move, but in many ways, it makes sense:
Actually, they're different cars. The wheels are the biggest giveaway (Wilson's were gold). But also, the range of colors is different on the two cars. And the one above is in England, and there's not much of a reason for a guy who lives in the U.S. to get his car detailed there.
Big screens (and fully digital clusters) seem to be all the rage nowadays, so I don't think the trend will reverse. I agree that some (including the Tesla) look somewhat tacky and not well-thought-out, but Audi is doing a much better job (though they don't use screens as extensively yet). I think they'll also look…
I'm sure it'll get better with time, but they still have a better (and more successful) product than anyone else who's tried to make an electric car.
I'd say they're built to make you (feel) fast in everyday driving. If you consider accelerating up to the speed limit street racing, then sure, it's great for street racing. But even if you don't intend to break the speed limit, this car can be very fun.
My point wasn't very clear, but while I agree that the Tesla isn't better than everything else in all circumstances, it is better than nearly everything when you're not on a race track. That is, the majority (if not 100%) of the time that their owners are driving them, there is nearly nothing that will outperform it.…
Upon looking more carefully, you're right. The seat seems too close to the edge of the car for it to be centrally mounted. I just got blinded by the excitement of the possibility.
It's more that an electric, inconspicuous four-door family car is faster than high-performance supercars that's impressive. If you're willing to be rational and look at numbers, then it's not very surprising.
They're way too heavy to be track you'd track, and Tesla isn't pretending otherwise. They're not advertising it as a track monster. And they don't have to, because most people (especially those who buy this car) will never take their fast cars to a race track, and will instead enjoy the acceleration over short bursts…
I don't know if posting that note has any legal value, but if you're going to do something like street race, the least you can do to be somewhat responsible is to claim you're doing it responsibly and not encourage others to do it irresponsibly. There's no good way to verify that it's the truth (and it most likely…
This is a big part of the reason that international university students (namely those from China) are known to drive expensive cars. Yes, they are still unusually wealthy, but when you can buy a Ferrari for the price of a nice BMW, you'd be tempted, too, wouldn't you?
What lens(es) did you shoot the show with?
You really seem to have a personal problem with Chris, and can't accept the fact that maybe he isn't currently swimming in $$$, as you seem to think he is. He wrote an article explaining why it is currently hard to make money (not BIG $$$, but enough to be worth doing) being an auto journalist, but you somehow seem to…
You're the one who isn't getting it. Chris has clearly stated that making money in the auto journalism industry "has become" too difficult lately, namely due to the rise of digital content, especially video, which most people expect to get for free.
Chris' ability to do what he does as well as he does it is dependent on on having a sufficiently large audience that automakers view you as a credible media outlet. It's difficult to get a car company to lend you a rare expensive car when your videos get a few thousand views on average, which is what happens when…
Somehow I find it hard to believe that you are an adult and/or functioning member of society. Do you really believe that value can only be created by making something tangible? Does entertainment have no value in your world?
I liked his description for the yearly service at the McLaren factory: open-wallet surgery.
I don't disagree with you. But I disagree with people suggesting Charles Barkley doesn't think slavery is bad because of what he said in the video above.
