Why even bother with that so called “kerb”? Either make the track wider in those areas or don’t. I think the there should be a strip of grass next to the track with the run-off area on the other side of it

You just get it up to speed, and coast the rest of the way. If it’s to close, you may have to circle a few times while you slow down
