The kids aren't bored and the parents aren't dour -- the parents are stressed out  and the kids are emotionally neglected.

I found the communion wafers at my Catholic Church really horrible tasting. I remember the nuns warning us about the taste and giving us unconsecrated hosts at a rehearsal for First Communion so we wouldn’t all go “yuck!” and spit it out on The Big Day. I can’t imagine anyone finding them tasty at all.
