Can you actually do this if you are not registered as an Apple iOS Developer (for the $99/year) ? Because Xcode wants me to log in as a developer and then says I am not one. (I do have the free developer account though).

Actually, there is. AFAIK it is only the integrated Clock app which has all these problems.
Well, iWork on iPad can save to Dropbox via DropDAV (as mentioned in this very article), although the integration is not seamless. Many plain text editors can sync with Dropbox however (my personal choice is Plaintext, however I suppose there are many other which are equally good). Other office suites than iWork might…
In my case I didn't have the any error messages, but iTunes re-synced all of the photos anyways (on the iPad). iPhone upgrade went fine.
If you get a bluetooth keyboard then the answer is "maybe it'll be ok". As far as typing goes, the virtual keyboard is worse than a physical one, especially because there are no arrows on it. Editing text once it has been written is quite a poor experience (trying to get into a middle of a word, for example).
Looks, nice. I am trying to use the todo.txt/conky/geektool/dropbox combo. But this seems quite cool too. Especially because right now my only frontend for todo.txt on iPhone is PlainText
Sadly, on Mac OS X it is available only for applications running in X. Some other applications add this functionality by themselves (iTerm) but it is not a general feature. Also, apparently it is not easy to implement it through an external program (there was an article about it somewhere).
Sure. F.lux on OS X and redshift on Linux (F.lux does not have fluent transition on linux so redshift wins atm)
Interesting, has anybody here tried it ? Wouldn't it be like using one of those head mount displays (which aren't really that good) ?
I usually go sleep after a "bedtime" episode of DigitalRev from the iPad. However, I do sleep better if I just read a normal book before. Maybe I should really force me to give the screen a break before sleeping.
My problem with the article is that they include the TV inside the hidden cost. Most people actually buy a TV first, and the price tag is also so high that it can't be considered hidden at all. Also the choice of screens seems extremely biased, $2500/$1000/$450 that is likely to do an enormous difference.
Well, they could state something like "capable of decoding 1080p video in real-time", so let's just say misleading. However I am surprised that the chart states NO for iPad2. iPad 1 can easily decode 720p video and can decode 1080p video with some lag, so I would expect that the dualcore processor (and the "9times…
I don't agree with the "everybody should have a rooted phone that can tether". I don't know about the US, but here in France it is illegal (tethering is available only when you pay your provider for the service), if they find that you have unlocked the option, well, you will get a hefty fine to pay.
It can always downscale. For example if you import a 1080p video to the first iPad it will lag. Also, all of the new tablets have HDMI outputs (and yes, even the iPad2, with a special cable)
It seems to me that the OSes for the two phones are slightly different. Verizon phones already have the hotspot feature as far as I know. So it's just a matter of time, maybe Apple really wants to push out 4.3 with the new iPad and they haven't had time to finish the Verizon version, yet.
What does it remove ?
I'd be more interested if there will be a possibility to create a hotspot on an iPad without 3G (to link to WiFi SD cards, for example)
Is it ? From what was already revealed from iOS 4.3 it sure doesn't seem there will be any huge change in the notifications yet. I really hope something will happen but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.
As a side note: Dropbox actually uses S3 infrastructure itself, so it will be as reliable as S3 can be.
But caffeine, by default, is just a switch "no sleep at all"/"sleep as usual". Actually it is by reading this article that I found that it can do the "no sleep for a set amount of time" at all.
