It broke my Dad’s brain when we explained to him that first cousins were ‘cousin-cousins’ (his late boss’ eulogy mentioned that she and her husband were first cousins). Culturally for him (and my sisters and I) cousins = siblings more or less.

After a day trip a few years ago with my Mum and the sisters above (Sash) and below me (Childling), we went to the train station to see the Sash off as she was living elsewhere with her now-husband at the time.

My sister found a ‘tradition’ (read: a suggestion on the Internet) where you give the bouquet to an important person in your life, so she gave it to our Aunt.

She always looks like herself! I do genuinely wish more people would take risks and rock them, though. It’s always nice to see someone shamelessly wear a LOOK especially at an event that has costume in the title. Stylists have levelled the field and not in a good way.
