I think people think she is 'too young' because 20-somethings play teenagers in Hollywood. It's rare to see an actor in their early 20s playing their age or older, and Lawrence's biggest role to date is playing a 16-7 year old. So people just end up mentally picturing young actors even younger than they actually are.
