Sorry, but using actions from a previous game to determine how to call a future game? That’s garbage. The rules are the rules are the rules. What happened in Game 2/3 should not affect how Game 4 is called, unless the rulebook itself changed in the meantime.

“A better retort for Gary would have been, “If Corey Perry’s name was Corey Bieber, what do you think the fans would chant?””

You played on the Pittsburgh Penguins?

An Atlanta sports fan talking trash? Sorry about the Ducks sweeping the Jets, asshole.

“If Hinkie’s plan doesn’t work by 2018, the last 3 years are going to go down in history as the most epic failure in the history of NBA GM’ing. “

“Thank goodness for players like Evan Turner, who will always be around to reach beyond their limits, but fuck Sam Hinkie for recognizing those limits”

i dont get it

“Those saying that there was nothing wrong with the slide are absolutely right”

It is interference when:

(d) Any batter or runner who has just been put out hinders or impedes any following play being made on a runner. Such runner shall be declared out for the interference of his teammate

Incorrect:

Wrong. All takeout slides are illegal.

It is interference when:

do you know what the word “attempt” means? really?

“He did not go away from being able to touch the base and it’s therefore legal.”

Chance =/= expectation. You might want to temper that vocabulary a wee bit. Also, that 86-win projection has them in line for a wild card spot.

In terms of WAR obviously it’s not a full win difference, but we aren’t talking about WAR.

What? I’m saying he is going to play slightly less than he otherwise would have, given that he missed 5% of the season.

So, you’re better than her?

So, you’re saying if he was on the roster the entire season, his ML debut would have happened today. Nice job.

I’m not from Philly. You, however, have proven yourself to be trash.

I never said they mortgaged their entire chance, just that they mortgaged a chance (a rough example would be 5% to 4.95% — that 0.05% chance is mortgaged). That makes you fucking stupid, and obtuse.

The extra wildcard simply gives a 50% chance at an NLDS spot to both the 4 and 5 seeds, rather than a 100% chance to the 4-seed and 0% to the fifth-place team. Not much of a change in expectancy for a mid-80 win team.
