That is correct. PS+ monthly games are equivalent to XBLG’s Games With Gold. The PS+ monthly games are way, way better than GwG’s. Not even sure why MS even bothers with GwG anymore. It’s clear that they want everyone to use GP.

Is GamePass a comparable service to PS Plus Essential?

I was of the thought that PS Plus Essential is comparable to basic Xbox Live, which is a far cry from GamePass.
