Fuel isn't really the only driving cost here. I'd guess maintenance and pilot salary are at least equal portions to fuel. Even small planes costs hundreds an hour to run (and then plus pilot fees), and helicopters are worse.

What's wrong with premium? When gas was $1/gal (in the States) premium was a $.20 = 20% hike. Now that gas is ~$4/gal, it's only a 5% premium - what's the big deal?
